The (in my opinion grossly underrated) musician Ray Manzarek passed away today at the age of 74. Ray Manzarek was a stand out keyboardist and overall kick ass musician known as the founder of the Doors.
Rest in peace, thank you for your music, man.
There is no brief way to describe how much I’ve enjoyed the music of The Doors and X which Ray Manzarek made, so I’ll talk about just one song.
This song has been a part of my life. It’s This is the kind of song that you listen to on a sunny day with the windows out and you’re driving, preferably on a highway going up or down the coast in Southern California.
On the day of his death, I want to appreciate Ray for his part in making sun light warmer, stronger for making wind cooler and the ocean and the beach more beautiful.

So I have a new boyfriend…never thought I’d get to that last step of moving on but hey here I am :) he’s so sweet and caring and actually treats me well. Looking back my ex really didn’t treat me right. I don’t regret him, he was my first love. But I’m just glad I finally realized that I deserve better and I’m not crying over him all the time. I’m so happy and excited to see where things go with my new boy…although he’s graduating and will be leaving for college in a few short months but we have all summer and I’m going to cherish every moment.
